To New Beginnings

I figure the time has come to pick up blogging. Certain changes in my life are about to occur. YES the rumors are true. I'm moving to the Caribbean Islands to be a nanny of a 5 month old baby!
BUT lets rewind to when this all came about...

As many of you know I have a missionary, Elder Seth Taylor, we dated for  7 months and he just left on his mission to Ghana, Africa to serve the Lord for 2 years. After he left I was having a rough time.. and it being winter was not helping the depression level. I decided it was time to make some goals and make the best of the next 2 years. I broke open my journal, wiped the tears away and started to scribble down some goals.
1. get in shape
2. write in my journal every day
3. SERVE
4. make a habit of listening to conference talks
5. Travel... (study abroad.. teach english.. etc.)
6. Attend the Temple

I found myself on my knees begging my Heavenly Father for direction and motivation.
I looked at myself in the mirror..
Red puffy eyes, scrawny white legs who's date with a treadmill was WAY overdo, and a messy fun bun. My prayers for motivation were instant as I was suddenly doing jumping jacks in a large DI sweatshirt and spandex in front of the mirror to High School Musical soundtrack.
I didn't hear my roommate Katie open the bedroom door but when i looked over at her with her look of concern and shock and.. amusement I told her to please erase this memory from her mind. FOREVER.

Okay back to the story.
I had an old profile on a nanny website that I had looked over just days before, not thinking of nannying as an option. The next day at work (US Bank) I opened my e-mail and had an e-mail from a family that saw my profile on the nanny website and asked me if i was interested in working for them.. I set up a Skype date and talked to the mom for a while when it all started falling right into my lap. I WAS STOKED (i'm sure the fact that it was in the Caribbean Islands had a little something to do with it) I called my parents and told them about it and they set up a Skype date with Rose (the mom) to see how they felt about it. When I called my dad to ask how it went he said....
"I don't know.. we told her the truth about you Kenz"

What a great guy scaring the poo out of me.

My mom grabbed the phone before I had a heart attack and told me that it went well and she was very impressed with the family.

SO here I am in Provo, UT finishing up my last week at US Bank and counting down the days until i can begin this new chapter in my life.

Let The JOurneY begin.
